The K-Chicken opened a restaurant at Sølvberget in Stavanger in the spring of 2025 after running a take-away place in Sandnes since 2023. We finally got the chance to stop by the Stavanger branch one afternoon in august 2025 before going to the movies. The K-Chicken is run by the couple Bokhee and Kristian and the focus is on Korean Fried Chicken. The restaurant in Stavanger is quite big with capacity of about 50 inside and a lovely outdoor area that is great on sunny summer days.
As we walked in, we were greeted by a huge photo of Gwangan Bridge in Busan and by neon sign with Love Peace Chicken. We got the menu and decided to have Sweet and Spicy Korean Fried Chicken and Pork Bulgogi. It is always good with cold beer when enjoying some spicy chicken and I was pleased to see that they have several options by bottle and draft – including my favorite these days: Schous Pils. If you want to keep it authentic, you can even get various soju!
It did not take long before the food was served, and the Sweet and Spicy chicken was delicious. When I first took a bite my first thought was that this could have been spicier but that was not the case as the heat hit me after a few seconds. The small salad was a bit uninspired and drowning in a sauce but all in all this was great. The pork bulgogi was also enjoyable but we felt that the chicken was the best of the two. The salad that came with the bulgogi was flavorful (greens in a Gochujang sauce maybe) and the small kimchi was lovely and seemed homemade.
All in all, this was a treat before heading to the movies. The food was served fast which was perfect for us. The menu is limited of course but if you are craving some fried chicken, this is a great place to get your fix.
Pros:
- seating inside and outside
- focus on fried chicken
- beer and soju options
Cons:
- limited menu
