Cheap burger at Digg Burger

New burger joints keep popping up in Stavanger, and one of the latest additions is Oslo-based Digg Burger, which opened in Pedersgata in the summer of 2025. I stopped by on a dark November evening to see whether the burger lives up to the name.
When I arrived, I was the only guest in the small space, which seats just 16 people and has a compact ordering counter. Orders are placed via a self-service terminal in front of the counter — quick and efficient. I do find it a bit odd that you’re prompted to leave a tip while ordering, but that’s a side note.
Since it was Wednesday, the Classic Cheese was priced at a very reasonable 89 NOK. An easy choice. I went for the Classic Cheese (with a little extra cheese), regular fries, and took a seat in the empty dining room.
It only took a few minutes before my burger was called up to be collected at the counter. Given that I was the only customer, table service might have been a nice touch. Like at Hekkan, plastic gloves are provided on the tables — a small but appreciated detail if you want to avoid that lingering burger smell on your fingers.
The fries came across a bit dry, and there was no ketchup in sight — although you can add various sauces when ordering. The burger itself was nicely cooked, but the cheese hadn’t quite been given enough heat, so it wasn’t fully melted. It was topped with raw onion cut into fairly thick slices and some rather mild pickles. That said, at its core, it was still a solid burger.
Digg Burger has attracted some attention for its playful gimmicks, like coloured buns — the Blue Dragon with blue bread, the Barbi with pink bread, and so on. It’s fun, no doubt. Personally, I’d rather see the main focus on bold flavons and thoughtful presentation.
All in all, this was a perfectly decent burger, but enjoyed in a slightly sad, fast-food-style space with no other guests around. A few small tweaks could easily elevate the experience — having ketchup readily available, melting the cheese properly, and so on.
Pros
Wednesday deal made it very affordable
Gloves for eating
Cons
No atmosphere
Cheese not fully melted
No beer service
