Mouthwatering pizzas at Panzanella

We went out in Stavanger on a sunny Friday afternoon in June and we actually started with a small aperitif at Bravo . They have a small outdoor area that is great if you just want a glass of wine - and maybe one of their lovely toasts with ricotta and anchovies.
But dinner this night was at Panzanella Pizzeria and we just walked over as it is also located in Pedersgata. We went to Panzanella last fall and as you might recall (you can read that review here), we were thrilled because the pizza was great and because it is now a restaurant where you can sit down to enjoy the food. We are happy to report that not much has changed – they still have some snacks on the menu, some starters, a sharing menu but the focus is still on the pizza. Their wine menu is not extensive, but they offer wine from some good producers, and the pricing is not bad! We ordered a Barbera from Roberto Voerzio and that was lovely.
We started with some burrata cheese, cherry tomatoes and ramson (wild garlic oil) and this is a match made in heaven. I had the tagliere misto and this was served with a presentation from co-founder/pizzaiolo Emanuele of the various prosciutto , salame and cheese and it also came with homemade pesto! It was great to have some prosciutto di San Daniele again – it is not that often that this is on the menu in restaurants. We asked to have a small break before we continued to the pizzas and Nikki enjoyed her Panzanella pizza once again (with N’duja, buffalo mozzarella and olives) and I was also very happy with my Bufala e Pachino (with buffalo mozzarella, cherry tomatoes and basil pesto. The crust was crispy and tasty and the topping was delicious – what more can you ask for? We were full this evening, but if you do have some space, you can get some quality gelato from Siddis Gelato just down the road.
Thanks again Panzanella for the mouthwatering pizzas and delectable starters. Grazie mille and Ci Vediamo!
Pros:
- very good pizza
- small wine list but good producers
- good service
Cons:
- nothing!
