It is always nice to be able to enjoy a drink before a dinner – or after! In Pedersgata , there are not that many options, at least not after Lapin closed. Yes, you can go to the cozy Matros bar but the focus there is beer/wine. But now there is a new option as Eirik Sørbø (aka Bydelbartender on IG) is shaking things up at Michelin star restaurant Restaurant K2 . K2 is mainly known for its great set fine dining menu based on sustainable dining and part of that has been to preserve, ferment, pickle etc. This is used in both food and the drinks and we have had some great cocktail pairings with food there – both alcoholic and non-alcoholic actually!
The small bar that has been established is tiny and is essentially just a corner with 3-4 chairs but at least Eirik now has a bit more room to shake up cocktails for both dining guests and people that just stop by for a drink.
We stopped by on a Friday night, and we decided to have a couple of cocktails of course. The cocktail menu list is not extensive but there is focus on using local producers (e.g. Granskauen destilleri and Berentsens distillery ), Norwegian producers such as Bareksten and so on. Thanks for the drinks and chat Eirik – we will certainly stop by again for more cocktails!
